Of course I am late with this but I still have to write it… I haven’t been this happy in a long, long while and I am still happy.

I am very mindful that this is going to be a long and slow journey but I seriously think that we picked the right man for the job.

And now for story time, this one is really personal if you know where I come from.  This summer I took a weekend trip to Philadelphia to visit a friend I went out to explore the city saw their great art museum, but of course I went to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall (you have to go if you haven’t). This is partly why I missed my bus cause I went to the hall either way I went to see the bell and I am walking to the hall take a few pictures from the back of the hall and go around to the front, as I am walking I am running my hand against the side of the building (to me the most important historical building in the country) and I get chills down my back actual chills the amount of history behind those walls.

I finally get to the front and I am looking at it (it’s raining all day and but I am taking pictures anyway) and I just stand there behind the low fence looking at the building… and I start tearing up. Tearing up because that’s where our country started we are far from perfect and there are many things I would change in this country, but in that building on a disgustingly hot few days men committed treason and faced death for something they believed in, they made a new country.

I stood in front of the building with tears running down my cheeks and realized that there is no way I could ever teach European history as interesting as it is and it is my heritage in which I lived in for 9 years, I consider myself an American certain people say I am not but to me I am just as American as they are.

I think American,  I dress American, I eat American, I know the pledge of Allegiance by heart, I know my states senators and representatives, I can recite the beginning of the Declaration of Independence, I know my states signer to the Declaration, etc, etc, etc…. I am America.
